GERMFASK, MI. – Raymond “Jim” Tuttle, 74, of 846 Ten Curves Road, Germfask, Michigan died November 2, 2011 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.
He was born April 26, 1937 in Curtis, Michigan the son of George Alfred and Minnie (Menere) Tuttle and attended school in Germfask.
Jim was employed with the Schoolcraft County Road Commission as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. It was said that there wasn’t a rig that Tuttle couldn’t drive. He was an active member of the Lions Club and liked to attend the Logging Conventions. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching.
On January 17, 1959 he married Edna Diller in Manistique and is survived by their children: Russell (Lori) Tuttle of Brussels, WI, Jack (Kelli) Tuttle of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Cindy (Tom) Roberts of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Kris (Randy) Lischka of Algoma, WI; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
On August 12, 2009 he married the former Helen Swisher, who survives along with her children; Mallory (Kara) Sump of Oregon, Roger Sump of Oregon, David Sump of Michigan, Clayton (Nory) Sump of Japan, Vicki (Bob) Everette of Alabama, Rosanne Rowlette of Michigan and Ellena Forbus of Oregon; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Maxine Edwards and stepson, Duane Sump.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Germfask. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Reverend Arthur Bode officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Germfask. A luncheon will follow at the Germfask Community Building.
