Mrs. Marilyn Zost

Mrs. Marilyn Zost age 87 of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully September 26, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband Dr. Bernard Zost, parents John and Gertrude Junewick sister Kathleen Johnson and her grandson Zonnie Olk-Szost, niece Judy Horrigan. Surviving are her children; Marilyn Szost, Gregory (Melissa) Zost, Kenneth (Loretta) Zost, Dr. Michael (Dr. Deana) Zost, Joslyn Zost and Bernard (Tammy) Zost, 16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Jack (Christie Lefley) Junewick, sister-in-law Carol Szost and many relatives and friends. Marilyn was a devoted mother, raising six children as a widow. She was a 1948 graduate of Mount Mercy Academy. She was involved in numerous activities at school for her children throughout the years. Past President of the Maple Grove Guild for two years. She volunteered at Kent Community for several years and received the Florence Newman Award in 1979. Marilyn was also a member of the Women’s City Club and the Women’s Literary Club. She also enjoyed sending cards, praying, Polka, eating Triscuit Crackers with peanut butter and was a chocoholic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11AM at Holy Spirit Church, where she will repose one hour prior to Mass. The family will receive visitors Sunday 6-8 PM at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Chapel, 3525 Remembrance Rd NW, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Parkinson Disease Association or the Society of The Little Flower of St. Therese will be appreciated.
