Dennis LeRoy Levsay, age 74, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence. He was born March 22, 1944, in Holland to Oren L. “Sam” and Mary J. (Capitano) Levsay.
Dennis graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1962. He worked for the Village of Spring Lake in the Department of Public Works. Dennis was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Grand Haven Aerie 925. He was a fantastic gardener, especially known for his home-grown tomatoes, making his famous spaghetti sauce made from those tomatoes. His neighbors were always supplied tomatoes. Dennis also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Janis (Douglas) Bucha of Niles, Michigan; niece, Jennifer (Ronal) Baide of Niles; nephew, Aaron (Molly) Bucha of Granger, Indiana; great-nephew, Lucas Bucha; two great-nieces, Ashleigh and Emma; his special cousin, Connie Capitano; and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. David Gross as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of North Ottawa Community are appreciated.
