Leona Jean Phelps, 76, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born July 19, 1942, to Eugene and Leona (Ocunpaugh) Coffey in Allegan.
Leona married Tom Phelps Sr. in 1962. They shared 57 years in marriage. She was a co-owner of American Twisting in South Haven and worked up until her retirement in 2016. She was a graduate of Fennville Public Schools.
Leona is survived by her husband Tom Phelps Sr. of South Haven; children, Tom (Tara) Phelps Jr. of Fennville, Toni Phelps Gohn of South Haven and Tony Johnson of South Haven; siblings, Robert Coffey of Lawrence, Joseph Coffey of Ann Arbor, and Kim Martin; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
