Wesley L. Kreis, 70, Prudenville, died April 16, 2019, at home, surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Prudenville Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Douglas Stockwell officiating. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from noon until the time of the service. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, handled arrangements.
He was born April 27, 1948, in Highland Park, to Wesley and Irene (Rudolph) Kreis. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Ford Motor Company before moving to Prudenville 14 years ago from Detroit. He and Carolin Diane Sellers were married Aug. 27, 2005, in Prudenville.
Mr. Kreis was a member of First Baptist Church of Prudenville, Houghton Lake Eagles and the American Legion. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jeffrey.
Surviving Mr. Kreis are his wife of 13 years, Diane Kreis of Prudenville; son, Brian (Carrie) Kreis of Ray; grandsons, Weston and Waylon; stepchildren, Carrie (Vee) Cox of Swartz Creek, Johnny Rose of Wayland, Eric Rose of Lapeer and Kenny Kotarski of Flint; six stepgranddaughters, Brittany, Madison, Casandra, Caitlin, Heather and Elaina; and several great-grandchildren.
