KALKASKA [mdash] Dolores “Dee” Ann Wheat, 80, of Kalkaska, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at Meadow Brook Medical Care. She was born on Oct. 3, 1938 to the late Norman and Alice (Johnston) Malosh in Jackson.
For most of her career, Dee worked in retail management. Most recently she worked as the office manager at the Kaliseum in Kalkaska. Being a born leader, no matter what Dee started with, she loved to take the lead.
In her spare time, Dee enjoyed cooking, sewing and was very adept with arts and crafts. She was very outgoing and an extremely hard worker.
Her family and friends were very important to her and she loved them dearly. She will be missed by all.
Dee will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Dale; children, Teresa (Dick) Ankney and Ken (Brenda) Wheat; grandchildren, Rod (Jessica), Adrianna, Natalie and Dani; great-grandchildren, Shay, Silas and Kenyan; and brother, David Malosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Dolas Mead.
The family would like to thank Meadowbrook’s Cedar River House and Hospice for the excellent care that was given to Dee.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at LifePoint Bible Church, 4353 N. Spider Lake Road, Traverse City. Friends may begin gathering at 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
