Thomas John Marbes 82, beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on October 25, 2019 at JGS Health Care Longmeadow, Massachusetts. He was born in Green Bay, WI to the late Richard and Cecilia (Marineau) Marbes on March 2, 1937. A longtime resident of Menominee, Michigan and Lakeland, Florida Tom was a welder/boilermaker with Marinette Marine for many years, worked on power plant construction projects throughout the Midwest, and worked as a welder for an industrial compactor company traveling throughout the state of Florida. He also served in the US Army Reserve. Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Mary (Fournier) Marbes; his daughter Michelle Kososki and her husband Lawrence of East Longmeadow, MA; his sons, Steven Marbes of Dublin, NH; Gregory Marbes and his Fiancée Ellen of Green Bay, WI; eight grandchildren Brandon, Ethan, Haley, Nicholas and his wife Lauren, Jessica and her husband John, Nicholas, Andrew, and Victoria; three brothers Kenneth Marbes and his wife June of Chicago, IL, Donald Marbes and his wife Donna of Menominee, MI, David Marbes and his wife Linda of Marinette, WI, 3 sisters Lois Kniskern of Crivitz, WI, Annette Francour of Menominee, MI, and Kathleen Lord and husband John of Richland Center, WI and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Thomas was preceded in death his mother and father, Brother in law Eugene Francour, and brother in law Roger Kniskern.
Friends may call at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee MI from 9:00 to 10:30 on November 23. A funeral service will be held Nov 23 at 11:00 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church 2607 18th Street Menominee, MI with Father Brian Gerber presiding. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, MI.
