JOHN S. CLARK, 86 of Menominee, Mich. passed away on Tuesday November 19, 2019 at Marla Vista Assisted Living in Green Bay, Wis. John Stanley Clark was born on December 21, 1932 in Daggett, Mich. the son of the late John and Evelyn (Forssberg) Clark. He was also preceded by his step-father, Harold Olson. John graduated from Menominee High School with the Class of 1951. On August 8, 1953, John married the former Mary Elizabeth Larsen in Menominee. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from UW-Oshkosh in 1960. and his Master’s Degree from Northern Michigan University in 1974. John proudly served his Country in the United States Army for over 44 years, retiring as a Major. John worked as a building inspector for a short time and returned to the Army, working full time with the National Guard at the Armory in Marinette. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. John was a member of the Menominee First United Methodist Church and was a Charter Member of the Military 20 Year Club for over 40 years.
Survivors include his wife: Mary; 2 sons: Jon (Winnifred) Clark and David (Wendy) Clark; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister: Karen Barnes; and brother: Clayton (Carol) Clark. In addition to his parents and his step-father, John was preceded in death by his daughter: Carol Clark; sisters: Carol Clark, Joyce and June; and brothers: Roger and Leland Clark.
Visitation will take place at the Menominee First United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 12 noon until 2pm with services to follow with Rev. John Murray officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held in the Stephenson Township Cemetery in the spring of 2020 with military honors.
The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John’s name . Any expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to the Military 20 Year Club.
