WARREN EARL HUBBARD, 92 of Menominee, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday December 8, 2019 at The Harbors. Warren was born on January 7, 1927 in Stephenson, MI to the late Warren James and Hattie (Schley) Hubbard. Shortly after taking early graduation from Stephenson High School, class of 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Warren served two plus years and was aboard the USS Bowie in the Pacific-Iwo Jima, Luzon, Okinawa. They delivered the first troops to Japan after it’s surrender. He was most proud of his Marine-Navy combat ribbon. Warren was a member of the local American Legion, VFW and DAV. Following his service, Warren attended Milwaukee School of Engineering, graduating with a degree in engineering. After being employed at a number of companies, Warren returned to the U.P. He worked at Prescott, Ansul, and retired from American Excelsior Co. after 35 years as resident manager. While working at FWD Auto Co. in Clintonville, WI, Warren met and married the former Mary Ann List on August 16, 1952 in Embarass, WI. Warren was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Ann; 4 sons: Jim (Deborah), Warren Jay (Mary M.), Joel (Mary T.), and Jerry (Karen); 13 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his son: John; John’s wife Patti and their 2 infant children.
Family will receive friends at Cadieu Funeral Home on Monday December 16, 2019 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 am with Reverend Paul Cole officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Military 20 Year Club immediately following the funeral service. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Menominee American Legion or Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warren’s name.
