Kenneth Curtis Harrison, 82, Houghton Lake, died July 23, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held by the family at a later date. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
He was born Dec. 25, 1937, in Dayton, OH, to Kenneth and Laverne (Meyers) Harrison. He moved to Houghton Lake with his parents in 1943, where his family owned and operated Ken’s Bait Shop for many years on Houghton Lake’s south shore. He graduated from Houghton Lake High School.
On Sept. 10, 1960, in Harrison Township, he and Kathleen Ann Miller were married. He worked for Blakely Carpeting and Supply, from which he retired. He spent all of his life in the place he loved most, Houghton Lake, enjoying the outdoors and being an avid hunter and fisherman.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and stepbrother, Dean Bushbaum.
Surviving Mr. Harrison are his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Harrison of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Melody Morgan of Lake City and Michelle Harrison of Ishpeming; son, Michael Harrison of Southgate; granddaughter, Katie Harrison of Green Bay, WI; stepbrother, Ray Bushbaum of Dayton, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
