Mona Fay (Scott) Previch, 84, Houghton Lake, died Aug. 22, 2020.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born, July 15, 1936, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Lubie and Vernon (Rogers) Scott. She graduated from Melvindale High School in 1954. She was a homemaker and a bus driver. She had a passion for cooking and baking and loved to do so for everyone. She was undefeated in three county fairs and two state fairs with her banana and chocolate cakes. She baked cakes for the local fire department’s Wednesday training days. She truly enjoyed her lake home at Houghton Lake. She was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church, Houghton Lake, where she served as the president of ladies aid and in the kitchen for many church events. She also started and managed the church library. She was proud of all of her grandchildren and let everyone know it. She especially loved having all her grandchildren together each year at Houghton Lake for many years.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James E. Previch; parents, Lubie and Vernon Scott; sister, Marion (Scott) Tomason; and daughter, Sharon Hudson.
Surviving are her son, James M. (Renee) Previch; grandchildren, Jamie Burke, David Dickerson, Jessica (Kris Kuster) Previch, Frank (Grace Sanford) Previch, Kristen (Charles) Dobbins and Trevor Hudson; great-grandchildren, Cade Dickerson and Aly Rose Dobbins; and sister, Barbara (Scott) Smith.
