Maryann “Annie” (Kurth) McIntosh, 94, Houghton Lake, died Sept. 6, 2020, at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Houghton Lake.

At her request, no memorial services will be conducted. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled arrangements.

She was born in Ferndale, Sept. 18, 1925. She was the daughter of Katherine R. Kurth, who resided in New York City, NY, until her death in 1972.

Mrs. McIntosh grew up in Ferndale and graduated from Shrine High School in Royal Oak. She had lived in Grayling for the last two decades.

She loved animals, especially dogs and horses, having owned and cared for them for most of her childhood and adult life. She loved fashion and interior decorating, as well as being a collector of various vintage World War II-era pictures and trinkets.

She was especially fond of Steve and Carolyn Mead of Houghton Lake. The Meads were dear friends who provided support and loving kindness throughout her final years leading up to her residence at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Houghton Lake.

She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, Houghton Lake.

Mrs. McIntosh was a widow twice. Her first husband, Jack A. Mills, died in 1956 and her second husband, Leon “Bud” McIntosh, died in 2008. Also predeceased was her son, Richard D. Mills, who died in September, 2015.

Surviving are her children, Jack W. and Michael K.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
