Charles “Chuck” L. Cradduck, age 76, of Cedar passed away peacefully Saturday, October 9, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was born on October 19, 1944, in Kennett, MO to the late Houston and Louise (Robert) Cradduck. Chuck was a Vietnam Veteran, which he honorably served in the US Army. After he returned home to Leelanau County, on September 28, 1968, Chuck married the love of his life, Dianna Rose Lautner. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Together they raised three children, Trisha, Christopher and Melissa.

Chuck was a dedicated, hardworking man who loved to provide for his family. Many from around the area knew him from as far back as working at Timberlee Resort, E&J Plumbing and Heating or most recently from the maintenance department at the Traverse City Area Public Schools, which he retired from in 1997.

Chuck loved to spend time in the woods either hunting or cutting and selling firewood to many friends and families around Northern Michigan. Through his firewood business, he met many people and stayed friends with them over the years. Chuck enjoyed feeding and watching birds, planting a garden, watching old time western John Wayne movies or an occasional trip to the casino to play cards. Chuck also liked to spend a morning or evening fishing on one of the numerous lakes around the area. Nobody ever had to ask Chuck twice to go fishing and then once on the lake, many a fish stories were shared.

Chuck will be remembered as a devoted husband to Dianna, a wonderful Dad and “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Surviving Chuck is wife Dianna, children, Trisha Suski, Christopher (Ann) Cradduck, Melissa (Mark) Steckley, grandchildren, Hannah, Mya, Charlie, Anna Grace, and Hendrick. Also surviving are his siblings, Herb (Rita) Cradduck and Mary Sue (Dick) Johnson. Sister and brothers-in-law, Laura Brzezinski, Geraldine (David) Romzek, Eugene (Carolyn) Lautner, Everett (Janice) Lautner and many other loving family members and friends.
