Edward Anthony Novak, 87, of Cedar joined his heavenly family on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Edward was born on October 13, 1933 in Cedar, MI to the late Walter and Pelagia (Mikowski) Novak. Honorably, Edward served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. In his early years Edward worked construction. He also worked for Frigid Foods, Czerniak Masonry and Novak Masonry. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Lawrence and Joseph. Edward is survived by his brother Adolph Novak, sister-in-law Eunice Novak and many nieces and nephews. Edward enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, going to the casino and polka music. He was a member of the Cedar Chamber of Commerce, Cedar Hilltoppers Snowmobile Club and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation was held Monday, October 11, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 5-7pm with a rosary recited at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, also at the Church at 11am with a visitation held one hour prior. Fr. Donald Libby will preside. Edward was laid to rest immediately following mass with Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Church or to the Cedar Fire Department.
