LYDIA M. DECKER

LYDIA M. DECKER, 97, of Pigeon, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Pigeon surrounded by her loving family.

Lydia was born May 8, 1925 in Oliver Twp to the late Henry and Marie (Fluegge) Trost. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. She attended Cross Lutheran school and in 1943 she graduated from Elkton High School. She married Lester “Bud” Decker January 10, 1948; he preceded her in death on August 6, 2002.

Lydia and Bud lived on her family’s Centennial farm where she was Bud’s farming help mate. She was an active member of Cross Lutheran Church. Her pride and joy was being with her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lydia is survived by her daughters, Linda (George) Gardy of Pigeon, Lois Decker of Warren, Lorraine (Mike) LePage of Pigeon and Lori (Kent) McKenzie of Pigeon; grandchildren, Jill (Adrian) Hill, Kari Halvorsen (fiancé Rick), Eric (Jenny) Gardy, Natisha Decker, Matthew (Marisa) LePage, Jonathon (Jessica) LePage, Joshua (Jacey, MD) LePage, Kristy (Trevor) Carriveau, Jody (Nick) Blaszczyk, and Kayle (Tico) Thepsourinthone; great-grandchildren, Ava Gardy, Chase Gardy, Hogan Halvorsen, Evelyn Hill, Elizabeth Hill, Arthur Hill, Kavin Decker, Cooper LePage, Laken LePage, Gracey LePage, Livia LePage, Layla LePage, Caden Carriveau, Khloe Carriveau, Landon Blaszczyk, Palmer Blaszczyk, Savannah Blaszczyk, Lucy Thepsourinthone, Wynnie Thepsourinthone and Archie Thepsourinthone; several nieces and nephews, and a special niece Jean Sturm and also Tiana, Shayla and Evan. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin and Otto Trost and sisters, Meta Farver and Elsie Sturm.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday and continue until the time of the service at the church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Building Fund or Country Bay Village.
