Thomas Edwin Mockler of Lake Leelanau passed away at home on Tuesday March 21st 2023 with his family by his side. Thomas Mockler was born in Park Falls on July 2, 1946. He is the son of Norbert Mockler and Ihla Wells.

Tom graduated in 1964 from Park Falls Lincoln High School. Tom served in the US Army in Germany from July 1964 until June 1967. After returning, he was married to Audrey (Passer) Mockler in July 1968. He moved with his family in April 1973 to Lake Leelanau. His career was as an HVAC technician. Self-taught, he was an expert in all fields. He could solve any mechanical, electrical or carpentry issue. His woodworking skills were extraordinary. He was passionate about woodturning, and created beautiful projects which he gifted to many by sharing his talents. Tom created his wood-turned bowls signature for his entire family.

Tom and Audrey attend all sports events, including those of children not their own. Tom loved camping, hunting, fishing and hiking with his family in State Parks. He and Audrey spent their camping trips in Copper Harbor, on the Keweenaw Peninsula.

His faith and his family were the foundation of his life. He had a compassionate, kind spirit.

Tom’s wife Audrey, his two children, Thomas Mockler and Jason Mockler (Debra), his siblings Margaret (Gene), Kellogg (Paul), Patricia (Donald), Resar (Teresa) French, Michael Mockler (Dianne), his grandchildren Mollie Mockler (Kendra Mockler), Cailin Mockler (Kyle Riggs), Mia Matthews (Trevor Riggs), Adeline Riggs (Willa Rigg

His parents, two brothers (James Mockler and Donald Mockler), three in-laws (Jim Passer Emil Passer Daniel French), a daughter-in law, Michelle Mockler were all predeceased. Also, three nephews: Kraigkellogg, Brian Burnette and Nathan Burnette.

Tom’s celebration will be held at a future date.
